Riese Project and Książ Castle

Project Riese is the code name for an impressive construction project initiated by Nazi Germany between 1943 and 1945, which included seven underground structures in the Owl Mountains and the Książ Castle. Tour this remarkable network of underground chambers of varying degrees of construction and learn about the history of the site.

After completing the tour in the footsteps of Project Riese, head to Książ Castle – the third largest castle in Poland with over 400 rooms. For more than 400 years the castle belonged to the Hochberg family – one of the richest and most prominent families in Europe. The Hochbergs owned a considerable amount of land in Poland, but their stay at the Książ castle ended with the outbreak of World War II.

At that time, the castle was taken over by the Nazis, who planned to turn it into one of Hitler’s residences. Visit all these places at your own pace and learn about their rich history. At the end of the day, take a return transport to Wroclaw.
